All the way from Motatau!

Meet the lovely Ramach family today, all the way from Motatau for a family portrait session. They choose the Whau Valley Dam as their backdrop for their photos.

Here is a sneak peek of their photos...
A couple of scenic ones first (while I was waiting for them)

Really nice to meet your family Eileen, hope you enjoy your photos ;-)

Our place

Last weekend the kids and I decided to go "sight seeing!" well the first stop was the park! Then we went up to the lookout at the war memorial.
What a great view!

The kids were counting the steps to check if the 2 guys from the lions club that were looking after the cars in the carpark were right!
 Whangarei!

Looking at these photos it is so hard to believe what is happening on the other side of our country. My heart goes out to all of the families in Christchurch, can not even imagine what they are going through. Watching all the pain on the news breaks my heart.

Makes me think how grateful I am for what I have.

So what are you grateful for today?

What does 2011 have install???

Stuck! What do you do when you feel like you are stuck and not sure what to do? I have been meaning for a long time to blog about my 2011 goals and dreams...I do have some! I just feel a bit lost and kind of unbalanced at the moment and not sure why? I guess everyone feels like that at some point in their life, I am sure it wont last long, it will just take one idea or thought to get back on track! Ok so what do I want to do in 2011 - this could be the raw version!

1) Learn new skills!
I used to play the guitar at school and just stopped at some point, I really would like to learn again.

Up-skill myself in photography - as I always continue to do.

Learn to weave, again something I did when I was young and just stopped! Not so much weave but I really want to learn and be great at making flax flowers.

2) Get fit and to my goal weight...and eat healthy!
Hmmmm well it seams the older you get the harder it gets! I started the school year off with a hiss and a raw and have been walking and running a little everyday with my good friend Sheree.

3) Next month (March) I am starting a course http://www.openwananga.ac.nz/mauri_ora.html I am really looking forward to it! Sounds really interesting...so more to follow on that.

4) Blog more often! at least 3 times a week

5) Get L.I.F.E website started and the rest of our projects underway

6) Go more places...You know when you drive past somewhere (in your own hometown or area) and you think "I must go there one day!" well this year I will ;-)

7) Help...anyone I can.

Ok well what does 2011 have install?? I think I better get focused more so I can have some say in what it has install!!!

keep cool at school!!!

Well what a start to the school year! Cody and Cameron were keen to get back into it until after their first day and the reality set in that Miss Morunga (thier first teacher) was not their teacher and most of their class was in the room next door!
So after the first day a couple of days of hell set it! Refusal to get out of bed, put uniforms on, swim at school or do school work...you name it I could not believe it! Their new teacher was not too impressed!!! So I thought I had better work on getting this sorted!
So, first things first NO PLAYSTATION OR NO COMPUTER until school is sorted!!! next on the agenda, on the first weekend off we made a poster about their class, C & C had to draw a picture of them and their teachers and friends, then as they told me what they did at school I wrote it on the poster..."Play"..."Eat lunch"...I had to prompt them with "what about reading an writing and LEARNING!!!" Then I asked them to draw pictures of them doing each activity and we pasted it on the poster!
Now the next and BEST step I could have thought of! I called Charlene (AKA Miss Morunga) and told her what was happening and if we could have a catch up. So we met up on Sunday afternoon at the park...

So after a play on the park and fun catch up...

We walked down to feed the over fed ducks that would not eat our bread!
A few "Words or Wisdom from Miss Morunga along the way!"
The a quick cuddle on the way up...

Then one more play on the park...

So the outcome...They are making awesome progress everyday!!! Even started going swimming everyday, completing school work as required! So I am very proud and I am really am looking forward to them showing their teachers just what they are made of and how well they can do as they settle in even more and be themselves!

Thanks so much Charlene, you defiantly helped BIG TIME!!! Everyday they get home they tell me to text you and tell them how their day went! Plenty more catch ups to come!!! Can't wait ;-)
